Her unique ability to diagnose each client's individual vocal needs and her years of experience on both sides of the camera -- as one of the first female network camera people, and as an on-camera reporter and television announcer -- combine to give clients total confidence and effectiveness in speaking on-camera, in press interviews, in group presentations, and before large audiences. Her twenty years experience at ABC Television, with two Emmy Awards, in sports, news and entertainment production, has given her knowledge of the media that few coaches possess.

Karen's clients include executives, VP's, managers, and marketing and sales staff for companies including Colgate Palmolive, Gavin Anderson & Co., the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission, Merrill Lynch, JPMorgan / Chase, TIAA-Cref, Biography, T-Mobile, BMW, the Association for Conservation Information, OgilvyOne Worldwide, Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, Bank of America, White & Case, LLP, and Toastmasters. She has taught her distinctive, highly-successful voice development programs to lawyers, scientists, professors, teachers and principals, doctors, motivational speakers, actors, engineers, entrepreneurs, and students.

Karen's twenty years of experience on both sides of the camera offer a unique and total knowledge of the media that few coaches possess. As one of the very first female network television camera people for ABC News, Sports, and Entertainment, she has been acknowledged with two Emmy Awards. Through the years she has worked closely with Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford, Peter Jennings, Barbara Walters, Harry Reasoner, and Howard Cosell, and with many theatre and film greats including George Hamilton, Gig Young, and Ron Howard.

Karen has created highly successful seminars, including her "Ten Steps to a More Dynamic Voice", for New York University, The Learning Annex, New York Women in Communications, The Hired Guns, the Center for Arts Education, National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Presentation Excellence, the College Bound Career Fair, the Carole Hyatt Leadership Forum. She is in demand as a motivational speaker for many organizations and companies.

Receiving her Master's Degree in Theatre (Magna cum Laude) from Florida State University, Karen included a year's study in London on English Theatre. She has a double Bachelor's Degree (Magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in Communication & Humanities, with study in Florence, Italy, also through Florida State. She has appeared in over 500 performances nationwide in her one-woman show for Coca Cola, encouraging teens' self-esteem and self-motivation, and has acted in over thirty professional theatrical productions around the country.

As an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Karen has taught at New York University for over ten years, creating highly in-demand courses in On-Camera Reporting and Television Journalism for the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Her current courses in Voice and Presentation Skills, "Ten Steps to a More Dynamic Voice", are fully subscribed every term.

Karen began her career covering the Florida Legislature during the first years of the Government in the Sunshine Law. Doing camera daily in the Florida State Senate, she was also the Voice of "Today in the Legislature", the live two-hour wrap-up show for PBS, broadcast daily in Florida.

Karen is currently serving on the Friends' Board of the Theatre Development Fund, hosting the Education Outreach Committee. She is a longtime active member of New York Women in Communications, having served on the Board of Directors as Vice-President of Student Affairs, for whom she produced their 2002-2004 Student Career Conferences, to great acclaim. For the Drama League, she was selected as a Nominating Judge for the 2004 Drama League Awards for Broadway. She also served on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for four years, while producing and hosting over 120 events for the organization. She is a long-time member of Actors' Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild, NABET (National Assn. of Broadcast Employees & Technicians), and the United Federation of Teachers.

Karen has been selected for Who's Who in America, 2005 - 2008, and for Who's Who Among American Women, 2005 - 2008. Her love of teaching the voice and of imparting her vast knowledge of the media is highly acknowledged.
